Spinal Care

Back pain is the most common type of musculo skeletal pain and 70% of adults will suffer from back pain at some time in their lives.

It can vary from a mild attack of muscular pain to a full blown disc rupture requiring surgery. We treat all different types of back pain whether acute or chronic, arising from muscles, joints, ligaments, nerve irritation or disc. Pain related to the back can involve the middle and lower back, sacro iliac joints, as well as the hip joints and sciatic nerves. Our hands on approach is coupled with a strong education element where we will explain the possible causes of the pain as well as the approaches to its management. We will also liaise with your doctor if further investigation is required.

Our approach to treatment of low back pain will always involve Manual Therapy and may also include,

  • Myofascial Release
  • Massage
  • Acupuncture
  • Dry Needling
  • Postural Assessment, Training and Education
  • Home Exercise Program in print or emailed to your account

The Irish Life Health Back Up programme supports early intervention through physiotherapy for acute neck and back pain so that you can benefit from expert care and advice to ensure a speedy recovery. This physiotherapy treatment will also help reduce the risk of progression or recurrence of the current pain/symptoms. The Back Up programme recognises the importance of full rehabilitation following an episode of spinal pain. The scheme allows for up to 6 physiotherapy treatment sessions from initial assessment, including physiotherapy/manual therapy for pain relief through to rehabilitation and strengthening programmes.
