Simon Zihlmann sees himself as a “coach” rather than a “fixer,” working in partnership with patients to help them reconnect with their Why—what matters most to them in their daily life. From this foundation, he supports them in defining the What—clear, meaningful rehabilitation goals—and the How—structured, evidence-based exercise and treatment strategies designed to restore function, build confidence, and support long-term self-management.
He combines a strength and conditioning approach with APPI Pilates to help people improve movement, rebuild strength, and return to the activities they value. His practice is centred on education, empowerment, and developing self-efficacy, ensuring that progress made in clinic is carried forward into everyday life.
Simon also has a specialist interest in the assessment and management of dizziness and balance disorders, including benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), vestibular neuritis, labyrinthitis, and vestibular hypofunction. He also works with individuals concerned about bone health, including osteoporosis, as well as those living with rheumatological and long-term musculoskeletal conditions. His approach focuses on helping patients feel steadier, more confident, and more capable in their movement, with an emphasis on practical strategies that improve day-to-day function and quality of life.
Originally from Canada, Simon graduated from the University of Salford in 2017 and has built a broad international clinical background across the UK, Canada, and Ireland. He has worked in both public healthcare settings, including the NHS as a Rotational Physiotherapist, and in private practice, giving him experience across a wide range of patient presentations and rehabilitation needs. This diverse experience underpins a practical, adaptable approach focused on helping people achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in their health and movement.
