Patrick Mc Greal

Patrick Mc Greal, MISCP
BSc Physiotherapy, Certificate in Orthopaedic ManipulativeTherapy (COMT NZMPA), MSc
BioInnovation.

Patrick graduated with first-class honours from the University of Limerick in 2013 and has
since built a career spanning Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and a volunteering stint in
Guatemala. With over 12 years of clinical practice in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, he has
honed his skills across private practice, elite sports, and acute hospital settings.

In New Zealand, Patrick balanced private practice and sports work with completing a two-
year postgraduate certificate in Orthopaedic Manual Therapy through the New Zealand
Manipulative Physiotherapy Association (NZMPA). His time in Australia included working in
a physiotherapy and pilates studio in Melbourne, where he taught both mat, reformer and
strength and conditioning classes. Additionally, he spent 18 months with the Melbourne
Rebels Rugby Union, serving as the lead physiotherapist for the women’s Super W team in
2019.

Since returning to Ireland in 2020, Patrick has continued to broaden his expertise, working
across both private practice and the HSE. In 2022, he completed a Master’s in BioInnovation
through the Stanford-affiliated BioInnovate Fellowship at the University of Galway, further
enhancing his innovative approach to physiotherapy care.

Patrick’s passion lies in empowering people to take control of their physical health and live
healthier, happier lives. Whether supporting recovery from an acute injury, managing
chronic conditions, or guiding post-surgical rehabilitation, he delivers personalized, realistic,
and effective solutions. He has a particular interest in athletic hip and groin pain, hip and
knee osteoarthritis, and exercise strategies for aging well. His approach focuses on
understanding the problem in depth, creating a personalised plan, and combining manual
therapy with progressive rehabilitation to achieve optimal outcomes.

Outside the clinic, Patrick is passionate about the outdoors and staying active. Now back
home in Mayo, he enjoys running the greenway, hiking Croagh Patrick, and spending time
with his young family. While his athletic background began with GAA and soccer, running
has become a central focus in recent years, including running marathons, ultramarathons
and of course Sea2Summit every November. Now a proud father, he understands the
importance of staying healthy and active to keep up with family life.
