DPT (Doctorate of Physical Therapy), American Physical Therapy Assocation
Extending a warm welcome to Kate Creaby who has recently joined the team of physiotherapists at the clinic here.
Kate earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2009 from Carroll University in Waukesha,Wisconsin, in the USA.
She has spent the last 10 years treating musculoskeletal injuries in the healthy and active population surrounding Boulder, Colorado. She enjoys working with a diverse patient population, athlete, and non-athlete alike, and having treated the young (10 y/o+) to the more mature (101 y/o!), she considers herself an experienced generalist practitioner. She has training in joint mobilization and manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, trigger point dry needling, and exercise prescription; used in combination to maximize each person's potential and return to function and recreation.
In her undergraduate years, Kate swam competitively at Rice University in Houston, Texas, specializing in the distance freestyle and butterfly events. At her peak, she went on to qualify and compete in the US Olympic Trials in 2000. Since hanging up her goggles, she enjoys hiking, cycling, and skiing.
After having visited Westport a number of times in the past, she is excited to now call it home. She has settled here with her husband (a Westport native), three children, and the family dog. She believes that trading the 300 days of sunshine each year in Colorado for a similar amount of rain is worth it to live in such a beautiful place and raise her family in all things Irish.
